THE COACHMAN SOUTH LAKE TAHOE
A white winter at Coachman was seriously a dream! Living 1.5 hours from Lake Tahoe, we don't get a snowfall, but with a little drive we have a winter wonderland. We stayed at The Coachman Hotel for a few days but we took home with us the feeling of winter. The Coachman is a newly remodeled hotel. It is modern, cozy, warm, inviting, convenient and so instagrammable. When I first discovered the Coachman, I wanted to make a trip there just to see the beautiful space. Little did I know that the interior design wouldn't speak for the experience. This was my most memorable trip to Lake Tahoe. The atmosphere, ambiance, mood that Coachman provides surpasses all the designs (don't get me wrong, those are important for me too)!
When I was trying to check in, at first I was a little bit confused; I couldn't find the "lobby". I then walked into "the coffee shop" and asked them where I can check in, and the young man replied, "Oh, you're at the right spot!"
The lobby is so welcoming and warm. It feels like you just walked into a coffee shop with lounging couches and cozy vibes. It's not very formal as you'd expect in most hotels, but I think that was my favorite part. You almost felt right at home. It is the heart of the hotel. The reception desk also serves coffee, beer & wine and small bites.
There is complimentary breakfast every morning. The area is just to the corner of the lobby divided by another lounging area with all kind of board games you can imagine. They have them all. We loved spending time there with the kids.
The Coachman is located just minutes from the sandy beach, heavenly ski resort, casinos, resorts, shopping and lots of food. The staff was incredibly nice and down to earth. There is service at the bar reception any time of day. They also have a pool and jacuzzi but we ended up not using it since the kids were with us. The evenings we spent outside making our s'mores and just enjoying each other's company in the wintery setting. It was so memorable. Overall, the hotel is very casual and low key which was so fitting in the forest.
This was one of our most memorable trips to lake tahoe. We personally love low key places because they show you the true side of place and people. Sometimes you just need that. We can't wait to be back!
The rooms are designed very simple, modern and minimal. All of my favorite elements combined. We had two queen beds since we had the kids with us. It was a bit small for the four of us, but totally manageable. Just have to organize and unpack smart. Overall, fantastic setting and mood.
sweet memories around the fire with the whole family.
